Job Description
Thompson Coburn LLP currently has a non-exempt position available in our St. Louis office for a full-time Client Accounts Specialist with at least one year’s experience.  Qualified applicants will possess an Associate’s degree. The person selected for this position must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
 
Job Responsibilities
·         Develops and applies a general understanding of legal conflict of interest principles.
·         Applies quality assurance review of conflicts and client/matter information and ensures high levels of accuracy and completeness of information and adherence to Firm guidelines and procedures.
·         Utilizes software to process client and matter intake information.
·         Processes conflict requests for clients and matters or updates to existing files.
·         Processes changes and updates for client and matter files.
·         Documents, updates and communicates procedures, known issues or workarounds to users as well as provides general user support for the intake and conflict request tools.
·         Performs data analysis in support of management objectives which includes data review, mining and scrubbing.
·         Develops and recommends modifications to data, reports, systems, procedures or processes, particularly as it relates to intake and conflict request workflow.
·         Comprehends system or process changes as they affect data, reports and users.
·         Completes other special projects as assigned related to conflicts and client/matter information.
·         Escalates actual or potential issues to the appropriate individual(s).
 
Job Requirements
·         Must display excellent customer service.
·         Must possess strong collaboration skills to successfully work in the team environment.
·         Must be able to handle critical duties on fast-paced days and keep longer term responsibilities on target, all with minimal supervision.
·         Must possess a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills so as to be able to work well with employees at all levels within the organization and maintain all information in the strictest of confidence. Required to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others.
·         Must have ability to read, write, and communicate fluent English; ability to compose documents in the appropriate business style using correct grammar and spelling; ability to communicate clearly using proper grammar and diction over the telephone.
·         Must possess attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects, and strong time management skills.
·         Must have ability to reason and apply common-sense understanding to situations encountered.
·         Ability to process routine daily functions while being able to resolve sensitive issues and complex assignments utilizing above average critical thinking skills.
·         Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • The physical demands of this position are representative of those that might be met by an employee in order for him or her to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.  These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday, having the ability to transport 20 pounds and being able to operate a computer and other business equipment found in the office.
