Office of the President
Maryville University seeks an Executive Assistant to provide a high level of administrative support to the President’s Office.  This includes handling sensitive information, interacting with external and internal constituents and managing office tasks timely and efficiently.  The position reports to the Chief of Staff and works directly with the President and office team.  The candidate must be detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment. The successful candidate must be committed to fostering a welcoming environment for a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and outside constituents.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule, prioritize and maintain daily appointment calendar for the President and handle all arrangements for meetings.
  • Exceptional customer service over the phone and in person.  This includes greeting and assisting visitors, screening phone calls and routing callers to appropriate party.
  • Compose, edit and proof a variety of documents.
  • Make travel arrangements include booking flights, cars and making hotel and restaurant reservations.
  • Handle office tasks – maintain electronic filing system, initiate purchases, submit expenditures for payment and prioritize mail.
  • Bachelor’s degree or five years of professional administrative support
  • Ability to handle high level and sensitive confidential information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities and emerging situations while maintaining professionalism and approachability.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills required.
  • Ability to write, speak and interact clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to learn and apply emerging technologies.
