The Upward Bound Counselor/Tutor will teach enrichment courses in English, Monday through Thursday and two (2) Saturdays per month to program participants. Duties of the Tutor will include:

- Provide instruction and tutorial services in the subject matter assigned;
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEP'S);
- Prepare students in the subject area that they will be enrolled in during the academic year, with a focus on learning study skills which will help them succeed in classes;
- Motivate students towards college and to assist with building self-esteem and a sense of achievement.

The hours for this position are:
Mondays- Thursdays 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
1st and 3rd Saturdays 8 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned in support of the Center's mission and goals.

This position is a current part-time Administrative / Professional vacancy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's East St. Louis Higher Learning Center. The position posting will close to applicants at close of business, 4:30 pm CST, on the posting end date.

-Bachelor's degree in the related subject matter;
