Job Description
The SIUE Department of Chemistry is seeking to fill a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position at the Instructor level. The successful candidate will teach four to five courses annually and have lab manager duties that support the Department of Chemistry. Teaching assignments will include courses and laboratories at the undergraduate and possibly the graduate (MS) levels, including courses in introductory chemistry. Lab manager responsibilities include: management of the stockroom; preparation, procurement, and waste management for the undergraduate laboratory curriculum; inventory management; liaison with the Emergency Management and Safety office for chemical and hazardous waste disposal; chemical hygiene officer for undergraduate level laboratory classrooms, stockroom, and storage and waste facility.

Qualifications
A doctoral degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field is preferred; M.S. degree in Chemistry considered. Currently or willing to become HazWop Certified within 6 months of employment. Self-initiates, implements, and expedites the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Terms of Appointment
Full-time, non-tenure-track appointment, available immediately. The start date for the position will be in January 2019. This is a 9-month academic year appointment, with potential for summer salary and duties negotiated through Chemistry.
