An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

Your daily responsibilities include

  • Set buffet lines and breaks with proper equipment, supplies, and decor  
  • Set tables with proper silverware, napkins, condiments, centerpieces, etc.
  • Prepare and set/serve beverages
  • Serve plated meals to guests
  • Remove used plates, glassware, silverware, etc. from assigned areas
  • Anticipate and provide for guests’ needs throughout entire function
  • Provide optimal guest service to all guests and respond efficiently to guest concerns
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure timely break down of banquet events
  • Ensure that future events are set up for success
  • Polishing plates, silverware, and glassware
  • Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, etc.
  • Coordinate with banquet staff and other restaurant personnel to provide excellent guest service
  • Various other duties may be assigned
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

  • Previous banquet and/or restaurant service experience
  • Knowledge of proper restaurant sanitation procedures
  • Outgoing personality with exceptional work habits
  • Must have open availability to work Holiday Season (December 1st through December 23rd)
  • Must be able to read and write in English and have good verbal communicating skills 
  • Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, etc. 
  • Respond to visual and aural cues
  • Maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
  • Able to work independently with little or no direct supervision
  • Able to multi-task efficiently
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions 
  • Must become TIPS (alcohol awareness) certified 
  • Physically mobile with ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 30 lbs., and the ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
