Job Description
The Clark Family Branch is seeking a full-time Custodian to perform a broad range of cleaning duties to maintain the cleanliness and attractive appearance of the Library building, both interior and exterior.

We have transformed into a meaningful community resource with updated facilities and an array of programs and partnerships that serve over 860,000 patrons.
 
Salary: $33,132.00
 
Hours:
Tuesday - Saturday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
One Sunday per month
 
Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Cleans and dusts tables, counters, other furniture, and shelving units of all types, and removes trash from containers in the public service areas using appropriate cleaning products to provide a clean and sanitary environment. 
  2. Maintains floors to provide a clean and safe environment with a neat appearance. 
  3. Cleans restrooms to provide a neat and clean appearance and a sanitary environment for customers and staff.
  4. Cleans staff work area and staff break room to provide a clean and neat work environment. 
  5. Maintains grounds to provide safe, neat, and tidy outdoor environment. 
  6. Performs periodic cleaning projects, including heavy cleaning, and other duties as assigned to make the library an attractive, clean, and safe environment for staff and customers. 
  7. Assists in setting up meeting rooms for Library programs and outside meetings. 
Job Qualifications:
  • One year of previous custodial experience
  • Must possess a commitment to a high level of public service to Library customers and other staff

Physical and Metal Requirements:
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and reach on an 8 ft. ladder
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision at times
  • Ability to stand for up to eight hours per shift
  • Ability to bend to very low shelves or area of the Library building or reach up to very high shelves or areas of the Library building
  • Ability to use a pc, word processing, and e-mail
