JOB TITLE:               Immigration Coordinator
FLSA STATUS:         Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT:       Professional Development & Legal Recruiting
REPORTS TO:          Director of Professional Recruiting, Development & Diversity
OFFICE:                   St. Louis
POSITION SUMMARY:  Under supervision of the Director of Professional Recruiting, Development & Diversity and according to established policies and procedures, provides       services for all attorneys, secretaries and staff personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  "Essential" are primary job duties that an individual must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.

1.                  Supports attorneys and paralegals in the preparation of employment-based immigration petitions.

2.                  Coordinates and performs administrative tasks for immigration practice, including client and matter openings.

3.                  Performs copying, scanning and filing.

4.                  Tracks and coordinates billing and invoicing under traditional hourly and fixed-fee billing structures.

5.                  Updates immigration tracking and calendaring system to ensure all nonimmigrant and immigrant materials are timely filed.

1.      Must possess a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills so as to be able to work well with employees at all levels within the organization and maintain all information in the strictest of confidence.  Required to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others.

2.      Must have ability to read, write and communicate fluent English; ability to compose documents in the appropriate business style using correct grammar and spelling; ability to communicate clearly using proper grammar and diction over the telephone.

3.      Must possess attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects and have strong time management skills.

4.      Must have ability to reason and apply common-sense understanding to situations encountered.

5.      Ability to process routine daily functions while being able to resolve sensitive issues and complex assignments utilizing above average critical thinking skills.

6.      Ability to work overtime as needed.

7.      The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee in order for him or her to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.  These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the work day, and having the ability to transport 20 pounds and being able to operate a computer and other business equipment found in the office.


1.                  Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with two or more years of college preferred.

2.                  One or more years of related legal experience is desired.

3.                  Computer skills and a minimum typing speed of 50 wpm plus an aptitude for computerized database software
