Job Description
Thompson Coburn LLP currently has a non-exempt position available in our St. Louis office for a full-time Legal Recruiting Coordinator with prior experience in full cycle law student recruiting preferred. The person selected for this position must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Supports the Director of Professional Recruiting & Development and the Professional Development & Legal Recruiting Manager in law student and lateral attorney recruiting and hiring:
  • Posts open positions with various law schools, job boards and other sites;
  • Assists with developing interview schedules and coordinating candidate interview logistics;
  • Assembles attorney information packets for OCI; and
  • Assembles attorney information packets for Employment Committee meetings.
  • Responsible for the overall functioning and accuracy of applicant tracking system (ATS) in all steps of the recruiting process and in support of the summer associate program:
  • Produces weekly, monthly, year-end and ad hoc recruiting reports;
  • Manages and updates all automated forms and templates;
  • Provides technical support and resolves ATS issues for department; and
  • Provides training to other users as needed.
  • Serves as main contact for ATS vendor.
  • Assists with arrangements and orientation for Fall Associates.
  • Provides administrative support to Director of Professional Recruiting & Development, Professional Development & Legal Recruiting Manager, and Paralegal Manager.
  • Assists with special projects.
Job Requirements
·         Prior work experience in a large law firm preferred.
·         Requires ability to use tact and diplomacy when interacting with others, and ability to communicate professionally with attorneys, candidates, department members, and other internal and external stakeholders
·         Must possess a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills so as to be able to work well with employees at all levels within the organization and maintain all information in the strictest of confidence. Required to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others.
·         Must have ability to read, write, and communicate fluent English; ability to compose documents in the appropriate business style using correct grammar and spelling; ability to communicate clearly using proper grammar and diction over the telephone.
·         Must possess attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects, and strong time management skills.
·         Must have ability to reason and apply common-sense understanding to situations encountered.
·         Ability to process routine daily functions while being able to resolve sensitive issues and complex assignments utilizing above average critical thinking skills.
·         Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • The physical demands of this position are representative of those that might be met by an employee in order for him or her to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.  These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday, having the ability to transport 20 pounds and being able to operate a computer and other business equipment found in the office.
