Provides comprehensive psychological evaluations for children and adolescents who have experienced developmental trauma (abuse/neglect) and provides recommendations and coaching for families and support systems.  Utilizing a trauma-informed approach, psychologists engage families to increase family knowledge of positive parenting, improve relationships between children and caregivers, reduce mental health symptoms, and promote resiliency

What to expect on a given day as a Psychologist:
 
  • You will provide outpatient mental health services to foster and adopted children and their families and to other types of clients as time permits. Offering standardized evaluations and assessment measures, written and verbal evaluation of the child’s current functional relationships with others and self, and providing family-based interventions
  • You will provide clinical consultations for FamilyForward therapy staff
  • You will participate in community education forums that focus on adoption, foster care, trauma, and attachment
  • You will attend education or team meetings for children, working closely with child protective services, social workers, attorneys, and other mental health professionals.
  • You will prepare summary reports on clients for social workers, judges, attorneys, or others, as needed.
  • You will participate with staff in development and evaluation of the program
  • You will attend individual and staff meetings as requested by Program Director
  • You will collaborate with other programs and serve as an informed agency advocate
  • You will open and maintain current records on all clients in accordance with agency policies and procedures for treatment
  • Complete twenty (20) hours of continuing education/training per calendar year, three (3) of those hours must be Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging focused
  • As with all position this is not an all-inclusive list of duties or projects that you will be asked to perform. 

You would be a good fit for this position if you:

  • Have a doctorate degree in clinical psychology
  • Have three years’ experience preferred
  • Have a license or eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri (PsyD or PhD).
  • Have experience working with children and families, with adoption/and or foster care preferred.
  • Have experience in serving high needs populations.
  • Your license is clear of any Board, liability insurance complaints, or probation.
  • You are to handle confidential information, administrative details, work independently, prioritize work, and meet deadlines. 
Salary Expectations:
  • Dependent on experience and education, starting salary $87,000 - $93,500
